📝 Set Clear Expectations

When the engagement begins, set clear expectations for response times, turnaround times, & work schedules.

  • *If project-based engagement, establish expectations for how long the project should take & how many hours are budgeted for.

If your Lawtrades contractor has other commitments during the work week, make sure you’re on the same page about which days & times they’ll be focused on this engagement.

🗣️ Establish Communication

  • Set up a kick-off call at the very start of the engagement.

  • Establish 1+ channels of communication, and use that channel consistently.

  • Confirm how you both prefer to communicate (email, Slack, cell phone, etc.).

    • Ensure all stakeholders can get in touch with the Lawtrades contractor through the established communication channel.

🤝 Stay in Touch

  • Set up recurring meetings or office hours (weekly or bi-weekly).

  • Ask for feedback on your work (talent), provide feedback (client), and loop in your Lawtrades point of contact if needed.

  • Let your Lawtrades P.O.C. know if you expect changes in the workflow, estimated hours, length of the engagement, or if you have concerns with the contractor.

🧑‍💻 Use the Lawtrades Dashboard

For Clients

You will receive both weekly reports of hours & monthly invoices via email, but make sure to monitor work entries & track spend on your Lawtrades dashboard as well. The reports & invoices are also available on your dashboard.

For Talent

We ask all Lawtraders to enter time & notes daily as a best practice. This ensures payments, invoices, and reporting are all accurate.
