Not getting selected for interviews? Review these important tips before applying to your next role:

  1. Keep profile up to date

    • Think of your profile as your "cover letter". When your profile is missing parts, or not updated-it's not attractive for the client. Take the time build your profile and highlight include professional experience that will encourage the client to click to see more.

  2. Add unique and high quality short notes when applying

    • This is crucial. The best way to stand out amongst all other applications is to really tell your story and explain why you are the best fit for the role you’re applying. Your short note is often the first impression of you for the Lawtrades team and clients, so adding a unique note for each role will be the key to stand out.

  3. Make profile work experience specific

    • Our clients want to know what type of contracts you've worked on, and if you've been part of any notable transactions. Does your previous client base align well with our client base of late tech companies? Take the effort to flush out any tech assets, and keep your experience up-to-date. Clients only see the top third of your profile, so keep it succinct.

  4. Apply quickly!

    • It's important to log in to the dashboard regularly. Figure out which roles you want to chase, and act fast. Some clients have pressing needs and they want to see a candidate list by the end of the day.

  5. Check your inbox for interview requests

    • As soon as the client requests and interview, it's in your interest to respond promptly with several times you are available for an interview. Don't forget to include your time zone and phone number in case you run into technical difficulties. Always cc the Lawtrades representative who connected you to the client for an interview.

  6. Read the job posting in detail

    • Our clients may need specific experience for their work. Check the job posting to see if you are a good fit and be realistic when making the case for why you should be selected.
