AI Contract Review — First Steps

Using Lawtrades AI to help create your contract review.

Updated this week

What the Contract Reviewer does

Drop a contract in chat and the AI returns a risk table, red-lines, and an exec summary—no setup required.

1. Pick a Prompt

Click Prompts and insert “Review Vendor MSA.” (Or just type your own question.)

Here is an example of a prompt:

# Review Vendor

MSA CONTRACT: [upload file]

1. Review from the customer’s POV

2. Focus on: scope · SLA · payment · term · confidentiality/IP · indemnity · liability · disputes

3. Table: | Provision | Quote | Risk | Action |

4. Emoji key: ✅ 🟨 🚨

5. Flag: auto-renewal, < Net30, one-sided IP/indemnity, liability cap gaps, non-NY/CA/DE law

6. Add “Proposed Language Revisions” table + 2-line exec summary

2. Add Your Contract

Upload a DOCX / PDF ≤ 10 MB. All PII is auto-redacted before the AI sees it.

3. (Optional) Attach a Playbook

Drag in a playbook or policy doc once—its rules apply automatically to every future upload.

4. Run & Review

Press Return / ↵. In seconds you’ll get:

What it shows

Executive Summary

2-sentence fitness verdict

Risk Table

Quote → risk → action (✅🟨🚨)

Proposed Revisions

Current vs. suggested language + rationale

Copy snippets straight into Word—or ask for edits.

5. Refine or Follow-up

Keep chatting—e.g. “Zoom in on indemnity” or “Rewrite summary for execs.” The AI iterates on the same doc.

Pro Tips 🚀

  • One-time playbook—upload once, applied forever.

  • Model picker—switch between GPT-4o, Claude 3, Gemini.

  • Bulk redlines—zip multiple docs.

  • Guardrails—✅ compliant, 🟨 needs review, 🚨 high risk.

Legal & Feedback

Outputs are AI-generated suggestions, not legal advice.

Tap 👍 or 👎 on any answer—either choice opens a short feedback form, and every comment (positive or negative) goes straight to the team so the model can keep learning.

You’ve just run your first AI review—try another prompt or type a free-form question anytime.
